US fashion brand, Gap has officially launched its Australian ecommerce site in the next phase of its return to the local market. The website went live on 19 August, giving Australian shoppers direct access to Gap’s core clothing ranges and an expanded selection of denim.
The digital launch follows Gap’s return to Australia in April 2026 through a partnership with local brand distributor Fashionata. The initial relaunch saw Gap products introduced across 27 Myer stores nationally, as well as through Myer’s online store.
Gap has since expanded its Australian retail presence through The Iconic, with its own ecommerce site now adding another channel for local consumers.
The return marks a new chapter for the US retailer in Australia. Gap closed its remaining Australian stores in 2018 before shutting down its local website two years ago.
Fashionata is overseeing Gap’s Australian operations and also manages a portfolio of international fashion brands locally, including Spanx, Ginia, Hanro and Joe’s Jeans.
The new Gap Australia website features several of the brand’s established denim styles alongside newer silhouettes, including culottes, capris and the Straight Taper Jean.
Founded in San Francisco in 1969, Gap is known globally for its denim, casualwear and American-inspired fashion.
